Honey bbq seasoned pork chops? Simmer in chicken broth or beer?

I'm going to brown pork chops on the stovetop...then from suggestions on yahoo answers I'm going to simmer it for the durations of cooking. Would it be better simmered in chicken broth or beer? the honey barbecue seasoning is dry. I don't have an oven otherwise I would just throw it in the oven.
