I have a us coin that is an 1816 Penny is it an error coin or did it get messed in circulation ?

I have an 1816 Pennie large cent but I don't no much about it could u give me some info and try to tell me what the groves are beside the face and back of her head it looks like wear or some Cind of gear ran over it but it's not on her face
