What's life like behind the Orange Curtain?

Is Orange County still the same as it was back in the 70's, God I miss it so much.. I remember when I was a kid stealing the fallen oranges in the groves haha, bad kids! I grew up in Yorba Linda, now live in near Charlotte, NC but moving to Detroit, MI.. I miss home so much, how's things has it changed much since the late 70's early 80's, I've not been back in so long, mainly since my mom ped, but I've been wanting to go back so much, recently.
